My Podcast is on how we can use the concept of Read Aloud, with a book that is related to what we are about to teach. That way students get engaged and they also have some sense of what they will be learning when the actual topic is taught.

Cognitive Load During Multimedia Learning
Mayer and Moreno’s principal of Multimedia indicates that people learn more deeply from words with pictures, videos, and illustrations rather than just words alone, which is also considered to be known as the computer based environment. Another important point of this article is the cognitive science research which shows how people learn with the multimedia instructions such as Dual channels that has two channels; the auditory and visual, which are used for processing information. Each channel has a limited capacity to take in information at one time, and third is that learning is an active process of filtering, selecting, organizing, and integrating information through our prior knowledge.
The main purposes for the multimedia learning environment are to reduce extraneous cognitive processing, manage essential cognitive processing and foster generative cognitive processing. The multimedia learning system has many principals that can be incorporated not just in education, but in many other fields to create a more effective learning system. As many of us have heard that students have a spam of twelve minutes or so where they are fully focused in a lesson, and if that lesson is not interesting or effective enough, that focus spam starts to wither very fast and the multimedia learning system is a great way for engaging students in the lesson, and be able to teach more effectively.

TPCK!
TPCK(Technological pedagogical content knowledge) shows how three bodies of components such as concept, pedagogy and technology work together to produce the knowledge that is needed in teachers, for them to be able to integrate technology in a classroom setting. TPCK goes beyond the concepts of these three components; it sets the basis of effective teaching with technology, which requires the understanding of these concepts. Then it is up to the educators to be able to incorporate that knowledge in constructive teaching, through educational games and so on, which demonstrate learning and fun. TPACK also suggests that in order to teach with technology one must constantly be creating, maintaining, and re-establishing a balance between these components.
Incorporating technology into teaching is not a new concept, it’s just that the definition of technology used in teaching has changes over time such as, there was a time when writing use to be known as a new concept of technology incorporated into teaching. “Learning to become flexible, creative educators who can transcend functional/ fixedness and other barriers is an ongoing and complicated process and must be confronted both pre-and in-service levels.” Teachers can only incorporate the use of technology in their teaching, if they have enough background knowledge and consider themselves capable enough to do so.
I agree with the fact that teachers should at least have the basic background knowledge about technology due to the increase of technological recourses being used in teaching today; otherwise teaching with inversions of technology can cause many problems in the process of teaching. “The first use describes as an individual tool or technique, and the second use encompasses all tools, techniques and knowledge.”Technology is tool created by human knowledge of combining recourses to produce desired products to solve problems and simplify human lives. If the technology is there, we should incorporate it into teaching for a more constructive learning, through the second sense which includes all of the types of technology used in a classroom rather than just one, such as computers, overhead, projectors, chalk boards, pens, pencils and other supplies which are all necessary in a classroom.
